I've never had the head off the D250, so I don't know. Guessing it's not perfectly flat though. Just pulling the rotating assembly would snowball into new rings, honed cylinders, arp rod and main bolts, cam, lifters, etc etc.. It is actually my smoothest running engine of the four, I'd rather leave it alone. It's just leaking from everywhere. Idk... Maybe I should just leave it alone, attached to the 727. And pull the engine out of my 93 (my first cummins, not in sig) gut it, have it machined back home, (NO way I would bring it to ANY shop here) and just order a complete rebuild kit, and build/install the engine myself here. My boss has a shop a little ways out of town I could get an engine stand into, and could be stored inside till ready. And give the 96 another oil change with a couple bottles of Lucas goop and hope it doesn't blow in the next few months... Hmmm... I'm guessing I could have all the part$ together before July, when we want to go on a little road trip.. I think I will make up my mind soon....very soon...
