I was told to buy a lottery ticket.

The warehouse that got hit? We installed a huge wall. Well, big target plus 15k of forklift and product means damage. So we installed guard rail. I had to run and get another 5/8" masonry bit for our rotary hammer. I busted one of the carbide teeth off and ground the flutes a bit. No big deal. Finish up and go on to the next one.

About 45 minutes before quitting time, a forklift driver asks if we could look at the dock plates, none were dropping or raising. Check the 480v 30a 3ph breaker, tripped. Reset. It works for 15 minutes. Now I get called about a dock light that needed a bulb. For some reason I check the other one, no light. So I check the 120v 20a breaker. Tripped. Reset and it blows almost immediately. Since this isn't my normal building, I grab my coworker. About this time, the 480v breaker trips again. After monkeying around with it, we get the electrician there who was working another building.

Evidently, the guard rail I put up... went right over the ONLY UNDERGROUND conduit in the whole damn place. I hit it and was the reason for 3 separate breakers tripping. No wonder the carbide tip looked black, it wasnt dirt I hit.

Yeah I would buy a lottery ticket and say a big thanks tonight before bed.

Dad bought a '10 mustang and I took it for a drive tonight. Evidently running it up to 3500 rpm and easing through the gears is not the "correct" way to drive a sports car. I'm told hammer down and banging gears is the way to go.

Yep you don't shift those like the Ol 6 speed.

I learned that quite quickly with the procharged mustang I drove. Though I was gentle with it on the gravel road. Stupid thing about the way that car was was top gear was a way bigger drop than any of the other gears, and with the procharger doing nothing until way up there you have to downshift everytime you want to pass. Naturally that's another reason I much prefer diesels

I was actually surprised with how much grunt it had. The closest things I could compare it to are my old F250 (351, ZF5, 4.10s) and my brother's F150 (V6, 5 speed, 3.55s). no comparison

I just dropped $200 on ball joints. King pins sound awfully good right now.

I was pretty disappointed with the mustang I drove. I'm pretty sure The Roo Hunter could've beat it in most scenarios.

I'm not sure what dodge balljoints would cost for jaeger, but dodge axle u-joints were $373, and Carli ball joints are $8xx

If you need ball joints, look up XRF. They have a 1 million mile warranty and I've heard reports of declining quality on MOOG stuff.

Jaegers are still good for now. I hear the Carli ones have a lifetime warranty, and are rebuildable.

On another note went to a gun show today. Saw a few rather cool rifles. Most interesting thing was a triple barrel 12 gauge

It's refreshing to see wood stocks! There is a black rifle craze going on here in the States.

That's cool! I've seen plenty of double rifles and British drillings but never that.


The black rifle thing,I'm afraid,is here to stay. I like my wood rifles as much as any guy but the newer stuff just sucks and all the oldies are valued sky high. For what most want for a worn,rotted,and rusty lever action Winchester I can buy two new Rossi levers and actually have something I can feel safe shooting.

I like the AR platform. I think they're a well engineered piece. I just get sick of seeing table after table of basic cookie cutter rifles marked up twice the sum of their parts. That's probably an unpopular opinion at this point in time. Mil spec parts are mil spec parts, it doesn't matter who has their name engraved on the receiver. They're just worth the sum of their parts. It takes a rookie 40 minutes to put one together.

Finally got the tractor to fire today. Sounds good. Cleans up really well at 3k rpm. Still cold natured. Getting ready to go to the dyno. Pulling season starts May 9 with a test hook. Almost ready.
