I rebuilt the pump today because it had a rotor head leak. I put it all back together and tried to fire it and got nothing, pulled the pump and noticed the little drive gear key fell out. So by me trying to start it the engine rotated and the pump did a little too. I pinned the engine back at TDC, and rotated the pump back to the factory mark (where it is at TDC). Put the pump back in and now it wants to runaway.
So, could I have messed something up in the rotor area that would cause runaway? Since the pump runs at half eng speed is there a way that its 180 off?, even with motor pinned at TDC and pump lined up with factory mark.
