Question for KTA

Postby peobryant » Thu Mar 13, 2008 1:21 pm

Brian, I have a question concerning my trucks air filter. My brother Patrick just came up to John Deere the other day in my '91 Dually. He told me to ask you about a BHAF. He said you use a dozer air filter but have to build some special brackets. So my question is can you tell me, or post pictures on how to do this? Thanks.

Big Honkin Air Filter? I thought everybody had one? ;) It's just a bigger filter put in the fender corner. You can make a mount of your own, or make an "Old Smokey" mount. All it is is a steel plate bolted to the fender edge with a hole in it for the air tube to go to. Most have pipe strapping or some such to hold the filter to it. If you do a search, you can get part numbers. Might even come up with a link to a pic of the mount.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

The filter I run is NOT a BHAF. I will look and get the part number maybe tomorrow, and will try to get a pic too if I can find a digital camera.

Not to speak for Brian, but way back when I got the privledge to look under the hood  and I seen the filter. It was simlar to the bhaf in size and construction. You know kta, it was probly a filter he found in the book that flowed as much or more as the ah19037 (bhaf) but was half the cost  .
