How to make it go fast

The ones the cylinder and head slides onto. Looks like there are no threads on them any-no-more.
How many R's was that puppy turning? I've never see a rod "stretch".
'Course, I don't play with high rpm bike motors either. ;)

oh, the threads are there, just cant see em in the pic

the head is pretty tall so the studs are kinda long

on a good pass it is approaching 13,800 at the stripe

not a big deal for todays stock 600cc bikes but this thing started out 900cc's, is now 1500, and its old technology - no plain bearings (babbit style) in the motor at all - all roller bearings

(roller bearings are heavy)

fix what?

gotta start over on a deal like this

took everything out

did you mean get rid of the roller brng crank?

cant really do that pete

cases are set up for one

gonna order a falicon billet stroker

73 mm instead of the stock 66

1664 from 1500cc

unless i go nutz and move the cyl studs and get a billet cyl my buddy is starting to produce

with that i can go 89mm on the bore

currently 85 is max

if i do the all billet deal it actually gets over 100 cubic inches

lol

You have to make a lot of money to play hard? I know quite a few guys that have played that hard on credit. You might loose your house and your wife, but it sure was fun, right?

thats easy pete - just get rid of the wife, house, kids, health insurance, etc, build a bike not a car, and dont plan for any sort of retirement

you could practially do it working at mcdonalds

ps - stay away from any box's labelled PRO STOCK or DIESEL

for some reason they quadruple the price when that gets stamped on the box

Wife house and kids would be ok. ;) Well, I would like to see my kids once about every 2-3 months.
Tough to live with out boxes with "diesel" on the label, I'd have to have more that say "Labatts". 8)

I have some pics of the super breather valve covers.
You can see the oil drain tube sticking below the bottom lip.

Here is a top view, showing where the oil drops out, and the drain.

And the breather, sorry it's fuzzy, I was a little too close! ;)

Yup. Wye two of the industrial vents to a 3/4" line that runs to the rear/inside of the driver's front tire.

Image

Then take one of the 24 valve crankcase vents and wye it into the OEM lifter valley cover vent, and with a second 3/4" line, run it on out with the first in parallel.

Image

The total of four vents pretty-much eliminates any crankcase pressure issues that I'm aware of. Why four? It allows the escaping gas velocities to be low enough that the oil mist collected by the impingement device(s) is less likely to be blown from them and on out of the pipe(s).

Works quite well IMO. I'm even considering routing the vented gases back into the BHAF. :)

I got my parts from these folks ~ http://www.messicks.com/

Dual vented valve cover P/N ~ 2830784 $68 (ea).
Associated breather P/N ~ 2852531 $ 24 (ea).
Gasket f/breather P/N ~ 2852028 $9 (ea).
Three bolts to put it together P/N ~ 4899092 $.96 (ea).
Two seals f/cover bolts P/N ~ 3935449 ~ not sure, I already had them.
Use the OEM 1st gen valve cover bolts w/above seals to complete.

Hi Ross! How ya been? Good to hear from ya! :2cool:
List price on mine was $75, and the breather was about what you paid. Of course, I didn't pay that. ;) Mine came from the Case dealer.
