Deal or No Deal?

Postby opofus » Sun Apr 27, 2008 3:19 pm

Before I posted my other threads I should have asked if I got a good deal on my truck.

Its a 91.5 LE, 4:10's, around 285,000, straight body, recently repainted, the only rust is above the windshield. I have had to replace the front calipers and replace the rear cylinders and shoes. ($300). I paid $2500 from the original owner.

depends on how bad the rust is above the winshield ...... the rust you see can be like a iceberg in deep water .... only a small protion shows it's self .

like the last guy said, it depends on how bad. but from the sounds of it, it sounds like a pretty good deal if everything runs and works good.

part out

Postby opofus » Sun Apr 27, 2008 8:36 pm

How much coin are we talkin about for parts. Everything works, windows, a/c, power steering, vaccum pump, turbo, power mirrors, 1 rip on the bench seat. Its almost 100%, the only thing wrong is the ABS sensor bad. Looking for replacement.

good motor $1500+, tranny $500+, rearends if 4x4 $1200+ them dana 60s are getting rarer, if the box is clean $1200 up here, so you still got a desent deal, if i found one that price up here i would buy it right away, most of the trucks are going between 8 and 12 g's and a crappy field truck 4g's

You Want To Do the Work?

Postby Ace » Tue Apr 29, 2008 7:06 am

Gotta be a Getrag w/4.10 gears. Mechanically sound, that's a real good price. If it were me, I'd get the interior trim and headliner down and asses that roof rust. Then decide if you think it's repaireable and if want to do the work to get it done properly. Could need the whole roof replaced. If not, sell it or part it out.

Truck

Postby opofus » Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:01 pm

Its a 2wd. and the rust is not that bad. It does not leak, the old man that had the truck kept it under a car port. I think it will take about $300 to get fixed.

Plus I live in South Texas, Worst case, I take it to Mexico and get it fixed cheap...
