This add has been on craigslist for a couple weeks now, and I was wondering if it is something I can use?


For sale used cummins marine 6b 250 thru 370 hp 1992 short block. this short block has pistons and crank but no cam or lifters $100.00. can be rebuilt or parts. also for sale is a used running take out cummins marine 250hp 6b 1989 long block with lucas cav rotary injection pump, injector fuel lines and injectors $300.00. call ron at

While I am at it, will a turbo and ex manifold off of a 04 fit on my 92????

Theres all kinds of goodies on craigslist this morning.

Is that a VE pump on the second one? $300 is a steal if it is.

I don't know, whats a Lucas CAV pump? I also wonder if the injectors are something I can use?

It is what it says it is, Lucas CAV pump. They were used in ag and industrial 5.9's a lot. Less HP than the VE puts out though.
Both of those are steals for what they are.
The injectors are the same, but being it's an 89, they are 9mm.
The manifold from the 04 won't work, ports are shaped different.

AH Pete, I beg to differ.

Get exhaust manifold gaskets for a 12v and port the 04 to match it top and bottom and it works like a charm! I have a 05 manifold on my Burb and it work BEAUTIFUL!!!

Jon, I realized that after I posted it. Figured I'd let it be. The other thing is the turbo mount/ exit sits in a different spot.
CK, yeah, the ports are shaped different. If you go to the ATS or HTT website, you can see both manifolds, and compare the ports.
