wooden dowls for cam swap?

Postby fergavs » Sun Jun 08, 2008 2:19 pm

What diameter are the wooden dowls I need to insert in the lifters while doing a cam swap?

They work good too. I saw pics on another site.
Or you can use Vice Grips like someone on here who shall remain nameless. ;)

Take a piece of PVC or thin pipe, cut lengthwise in 1/2. Slide in the cam hole, grind a washer so it just wedge fits in the lifter with a little pressure. Tie a string to the washer. Drop the lifter/ washer combo into the tray, pull it out. When you install, put the washer in the lifter, slide tray in, pull string up, lifter goes in hole.

Mess with the best, get smoked like the rest! :finger:
