No full throttle???

Postby hassy21 » Fri May 09, 2008 5:45 pm

I pressed the skinny pedal down with a bar against my seat and look at the clearance between the throttle lever and the high idle screw and it has about a 1/4 inch gap. I recently adjusted my kick down cable to the way i felt was best and i checked that and the spring on the kick down cable was bottomed out. Is there a way to adjust before the spring without messing with where it holds it? Can you get a shorter spring or just clip it? Is there something else wrong with the cable?

there should be a little metal clip that holds the throttle calbe to the bracket and notches in the cable move the cable in that i just did it last night look in the "just Finished" i just put a post on there about it with more detail with the 366 spring and no idle screws my 93 saw 3800rpm i have my new valve spring orderd so i figured i better stop that for the time beeing lol

Try it again with someone else pushing the pedal, the seat gives too much... And don't go clipping the transmission adjustment. It is possible to get more travel without doing that. You might want to shim the pedal out from the floor for instance.

I took a thick washer, cut a slot in it with a hacksaw. Then I put in on the seat side of the cable, and pinched it tight. Full throttle now!

You could idex the pump one tooth counter clockwise but you will have a pedel closer to the floor.

With a GOV spring in my pump I still get what I had before and a tranny that shift higher in RPM.
