An RV cam is a gasser term. I run a Max Spool 2 cam. Its great, I love it. A cam will bring boost on faster because the lift and duration will hold the intakes valves open more/longer. Also by doing the same with the exaust it gets the heat out faster. A cam will drop egt, lower boost and also increases mpg. The engine is running more efficient so it doesnt have to work as hard. The boost will drop a few pounds because there is less restriction in the engine. As far as actual HP on a dyno I doubt youd see a lot of difference but SOTP you can tell power comes on sooner and lasts longer. Very good purchase and cams are getting cheaper all the time. They can be had for 400-600 bucks. Changing the cam is a little fun. Its one of the bigger jobs I have done so far because you have to pull all the stuff of the front of the motor. Its a great time to do the KDP if you havent done it yet though.
