 I have never seen that before. I have heard the rumors, but never actually seen it. I wouldn't want to pull up next to one of those...

Is that real? I have seen it a few times before. I always thought it was a flame kit or something. I thought that ticking sound was an ignitor in the pipes.

The ticking sound is more than likely a bad injector. My brother used to work at a ford lot, they had a power stroke in that had the injector issue, except when the injector went bad it started dumping fuel into the crank case and eventually it ignited and blew the oil pan off. I don't think these kind of failures are common, but they have happened.

Man, that video is older than most of the guys on here!
I think that's why they had to reflash about 40,000 computers on trucks before they could be delivered. I read someplace that the trucks were held up in delivery yards, and factory techs went thru and reflashed them before they were shipped to the dealers.

40k sounds like a lot, huh? :? Well, I read it on the internet, so it must be true!

I don't think that was aimed towards you. He was just making fun of everbody who reads things on the internet and believes it as 100% fact.

That wasn't really aimed at anybody specific. I just meant that the video was from march of '07, and it's been posted a bunch of times other places. And it's good that the young guys are getting these trucks, it keeps the site alive!
And I did read that about the trucks being reflashed on the web, but I can't remember if that was the correct number of trucks. After I typed it, it sounded like an extremely large number.

OK, back to poking fun at somebody! ;)

There, I feel better.

The best part of the video is when they rev it and it almost fries the camera man.
