well i bought a 94 dodge motor with an nv4500 behind it... decided to p pump the old 1st gen... took 2 days and 3 cases of beer... runs worse than my old ve.... my timing is at 16* modded afc and fuel plate ground and foward... im thinkin bout goin back to my ve pump!!!! :sad:
1993 d250,single cab short bed, sbc, 175hp p-pumped,4kgsk,370's, fass 150. hx35
1997 2500 4x4 , 913,191's,3kgsk,5x16, 3rd gen dubs.

Did you drop the '94 motor in, or just use the pump off of it?

Also, what do you mean it is running bad? Can you explain more? It may be a simple issue that is causing it.

What Parker said. Have you readjusted the pop pressure on your injectors to P-pump pressures? If not your timing is way advanced due to your injectors popping early if they are still set for a VE.

no i used the pump off the 94 motor and the injectors to... it dont run bad just not as good as my old ve... im sending it to scheid next week for a 5kgsk, cut dv's , and have it benched and tuned right...they said 600 with the right turbo... thinkin bout sum twins. :grin:

Those 2nd gen injectors have the wrong spray angles for the pistons in a 1st gen. You need to change the tips to 1st gen tips.

how bad is it off??? it white smokes a lil... are the injector tips in the 1st gen bigger? o and another thing i used the p pump cam... then i was reading the specs on the cam and it said the lift on a first gen cam was 1.84 and the p pump has a 1.43 lift. plz tell me if u no if they diff. :sad:

Those cam numbers you are referring to sound like injection pump timing lifts. As for the actual engine cams a ic-d 1st gen is virtually identical to a 2nd gen automotive cam. The non ic motors have a little diffrent cam from the factory.

What is different about the N/IC cams Lift?Duration? LSA?
90 W250 reg cab, Modified knuder valve, reversed reciprocting dinglearm adjusted, High volume flux capacitor,upgraded whirlygig, A clutch and a hitch
93 W350 ext cab dually, getrag and a few adjustments

I do not know the exact diffrence because I have never degreed a non ic'd cam. I do know that they still retain a unique cummins part number while all the rest of the automotive cams sub to the same one. The only other 12V cam that exists is the marine cam which has more lift and duration since they were designed to make power at 3000rpm.

A little off topic, but what are you going to do with that NV4500?
