Have you seen the pin? Actually, cone. I don't know why everybody calls it the "pin", the pin is what rides on it. But I digress, the cone is offset from the center. You can turn it to the deepest side for better than stock performance. Some are off 180*, some are 90*, some are there on the deep spot. I think the installers just stuffed them in where they had them in their hand.
I ground the deep side of mine.
