Postby RSWORDS » Sat Jan 10, 2009 12:05 pm

Sounds good. I had already done the belcrank switch over last year but have not got to the point of having to grind down the idle side. My lever goes all the way and hits the fuel line now. That is how I got power all the way to 3100 out of my stock govenor spring.

Yeah The truck pulls teh power ALOT farther now! There is ALOT more fuel to be had by re-indexing the throttle.

Geez, all I did was bend the fuel line out a little!
pete

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

The throttle shaft attaches to the arm inside the case, that pulls on the governor spring...

I would assume that the goal would be to index it so that full pedal is putting that arm as far foward as it could go without hitting the case, right?

How far is the arm from hitting the case in the OEM setting?

If you replace the stock fuel line with a piece that comes straight out or bends in another direction, you wouldn't have clearance issues. 8)

I reindexed the lever and it still hits... Ground it down... There is alot more room in there then most think. I bet i picked up 5* of swing. The biggest gain came from re-indexing the shaft. At about 3/4 throttle now is what the truck used to feel like at WOT. Go ahead and try it pete! i want some one else to do it so that I can find out if I'm crazy or not.
