ddp injectors

Postby A_port93 » Tue Jan 13, 2009 9:53 pm

i would like to know if anyone on here has dealt with dynomite diesel (lenny) with a custom set of sticks....i know that they have a line of off the shelf injectors but i would like to know how those who have ran their custom sets.any specs or info would be greatly appreciated.
also, how do their tip processes differ from scheid or buddha(i know ddp uses extrude honing vs. EDM). i know lenny makes some good power with the CR's but just wondering about your guys' experience with their injectors thanks

I can only speak for myself about Lenny and his character in general. I have known Lenny for about 5 years. The first thing I purchased from him were my injectors. I run his fuel pin and one of his turbos now. Every part I have installed has performed very well. I hate to say it but he is so good to his customers that it could put the guy out of business if he is not careful. I know that if I had any problem with anything I use from him I could count on him to find out what went wrong and make a better part to replace it.

As for the injectors. I use the DDP 4 injectors. I have had them in the truck for almost 4 years now. I have ran anything from B99, B50, B20 and #2 through them. They still run very clean at idle and even at WOT as long as the turbo is happy.
The set of injectors I have are very early injectors and made when I really had no clue what I was buying. I am due to pull them and have Lenny inspect them for both of us to know how well things have been working. Lenny is the kind of guy that loves to see how his product looks after having several miles of use.
In my case I like trying and using his products they have made a huge difference in the way my truck runs.

If you can catch him on the phone he is a great resource for information and his customer support is matched by no other.

I know that in the diesel world a lot of companies are struggling or banging there head against the wall trying to make big power and cleaner running engines. I think DDP really wants to be a part of this even for older trucks like ours.

To visit there new shop in Monroe, WA. is like walking into a aircraft repair facility with a few real expensive machines to do injector work, pump work and room for 12 trucks at a time. Even a RV or two while your at it.

Just call the guy he loves to talk truck!!

x2....Lenny is not one to leave hp on the table......I know a lot of strong trucks, 1st gen or otherwise that are running his stuff.

that is very good to hear snoot. i am dealing with bill at source automotive and when i said injectors he suggested lenny or formula one. we both agreed lenny might be a better pick due to more experience with 1st gens. the customs that lenny can do made the most power that they have provided the fuel for on a 1st gen. he just warned me that they might not make the power that he has seen on a truck that has a pump set up by someone else. in other words he said that on a ddp tuned pump they have made maximum hp and he cannot guarantee that my pump will run as much fuel.thats why i wanted to know whether or not anybody had run them.ill probably get them tho as i am a sucker for customer service. i have no specs on them but ill let you know. $800 aint bad considering the stage 4s go for $749

I have also had very good dealings with DDP and Lenny with my injectors. Mine are the 50's or the stage III's as they were once called. I had a problem with the first set, I called DDP and Lenny fixed me up with another set and all is great. They stand by their stuff and I'll be getting more from them in the future. A stand up bunch there.

If your going to run any of the aftermarket injectors make sure you save some money for o-ring, turbo and fuel system supply as you will need them in no time at all.

There's a guy who's running a custom set (a little over 70 lpm I think) that's run 13.30s with a 5spd and dynoed 450+rwhp on a single. They seem to work well for him! I think he's a member on here, though I could be wrong.

Do you know if he was running a 14mm H/R?

Thats the highest rwhp number I have senn from a 12mm H/R. Anyone know what the highest 12mm # is? Fuel only.

Brian, what was the highest rwhp you made with the 12mm H/R?

thanks JQmile thats really what i was after. ill have enough air with my setup being twins going in here in a month or so 60/12wg into a ht3b/26. studs and orings will go in when i tear down as well. im excited to see what will happen when all gets put together...so anybody have an idea what ~70lpm injectors compare to on the hole diameter x # of holes. im still undecided about what fuel system ill be running.i wanna see how easy those injectors will suck my fuel pressure down with just a piston lift pump first for huh?

Parker, if you would look at the dyno sticky you could easily find the answer to many of your questions. Here is where I made a few runs on the dyno one day, the old pig has a pretty consistent curve.
