KDP Tab

Postby Renigade » Thu Feb 12, 2009 5:09 pm

Well Friday I will be attempting to tab the dreadful dowel pin if it hasn't been done. While I am at it I will turn the pump up a little and change all the water hoses out. Change the antifreeze out and have the rad. Cleaned and rodded out just for good maint. Change oil and all fuel filters .
Replace serpentine belt adjust valves. If I have missed anything you guys jar me a little.
My next change in a couple weeks is air filter and intake horn. I also want to pick you guys brains on the upgrade on the turbo. I am only going to keep this motor in the 250 to 275 range.

250 to 275 will be a good improvement and you should be able to due it with a 60mm compressor upgrade. With stock injectors and a auto it will be on the edge. If you have a stick then it will be easier. I will say it before anyone else. Turn up the power and you must have a Pryo and a boost gauge. Don't do the mods first and then do the gauges.

That was the first thing I did was order the gauges and install them. From my experience from driving big rigs with out the gauges it is a guessing game. I want to further pick you brain on the 60mm upgrade and find out what ALL I need and where to get it. Thanks guys.

Renigade, that would be slim pickins'!

Don't forget to clean and Loctite the case bolts while you are in there. They have a nasty habit of coming loose too. :(

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Well I got into it and found that it had already been done. What a job. When I bought this truck I got all the service records on it along with the orignal window sticker and a few notes where he had took it back to a dealer to have various things fixed.
I went all through his notes and didn't find any mention of the tab. Oh well, all things are good in away. I do know the front seal needs replaced so I will do that also. Man that front gasket set is pricey. Got some more work to do and some painting, Doing under the hood in orange and white and black. Thanks guys for your good advice.
