pyrometer probe question

I just wanted to make sure but what is the best place to put the pyro probe. i know its pre turbo but do i put it towards the front or back? also is there any certain distance away from the flange i should put it or the closer the better? thanks

I think most people place them in the exhaust manifold, near the rear cylinders. Those are supposedly the ones that get the hottest.

In the manifold, just before the turbo. Either to the front or the rear is ok. There is a web in the middle, so that won't work. ;)

ok i just had heard that there is a certain spot (front or rear cant remember) that is better cause it is actually hotter then the other and wasnt for sure. thought it was the rear but just wanted to make sure before i drilled a hole. thanks guys :D

Put it in the rear

Put it in the rear. #6 runs hot. There's even a mod to route additional coolant back there. I would do it if I towed alot.
