That book is very good, it is the Factory Service Manual or FSM. That is a very good price as well! If you have a 90 you are in business.

That is about half price of what I have seen them go for on there.

That is the diesel supplement book, it will have all the diesel specific stuff in it. If you want another good one that you really should have, keep your eyes out for the 1990 Rear Wheel Drive Truck/Ramcharger 150-350 Factory Service Manual. That will have the rest of the info on the whole truck. These manuals make a Haynes or Chiltons only worth using for toilet paper...

That is the diesel suppliment of the regular dodge truck book. It has to do with the diesel side of the truck. I have both for my 89 and use both. I use the regular FSM some too. It is a good book and the price is right.

Is the '93 FSM the one to get for the intercooled trucks? What about for Non I/C trucks. Will any FSM do for them? Is the only perk to the '93 FSM the Getrag rebuild section?

The wiring will be different for the pre 91.5 and post 91.5 (I/C) trucks. If you have an I/C truck, IMO it's better to get the 93 book because it has the 'rag rebuild section. That's what I got, and someday I'll need that section.

I couldn't believe the info in the FSM. Every time I look in there I find something new.

If you have a Getrag and it doesn't need a rebuild my advice is to buy the year model Factory Service Manual for the year model you own. You have year model specific info that way and there's no questions on whats what, it's a no brainer. If your Getrag craps on you, are you really capable of the rebuild? Do you really have the gumption to giterdun? If so the manual with that info is not that much money IMO.

I think there are a number of folks out there that do not take seriously the big difference a FSM has over the cheap sthi haynes and/or chilton etc. The FSM is two to three times as thick as a haynes etc. They didn't fill the FSM's with 60%+ blah blah blah's folks. Every person on this site should own one before they are allowed to post a question. Even the most expensive FSM out there is worth more than it actually cost.

I agree with Ross. The FSM is by far the best of the available books for our trucks. I didn't want to pay the money for mine, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat after seeing what's in it.

Do you think I would be better off buying the FSM for a '91, because I have a '91? I know we have a few things different about our trucks than the '92 and '93 models. If I ever get another 1st Gen (I plan to) it will more than likely be a '93 with a Getrag, so I suppose I could buy the '93 FSM when I need to rebuild the 'Rag...

My advice is buy the 91' FSM. There are significant differences in an early 91' compared to the later 1st Gens. Even the 91.5 has some unique elect. & PCM info compared to 92-93's IIRC.

The FSM's are of significant value period. If you buy it for say $65, and you later want to sell it, I have no doubt it is still worth $30-50. A Haynes costs $20 and isn't worth using to wipe your ass with, let alone sell it later.

I have a few for the different year Dodge trucks I have. As well as Chrysler Factory Part Book and Cummins Dodge CTD part book and I even have the Chrysler Advance Product Information Binder(sales BS) for my 89' CTD. Some unnecessary but very interesting anywho... The Chrysler Parts Binders have schematic breakdowns for every single piece and part on the truck, the numbers are now superceded and many of the parts are obsolete or not serviced (nuts & bolts) but the breakdown photos are priceless IMO. Good stuff to watch out for on Fleabay...

So I should get this one then? http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp ... SM91_PRINT

That will have information on the Non I/C and I/C trucks right? There aren't separate FSM's for them are there?

Anyone know where to get them cheaper than $95

Cheaper on ebay. Search Bishko Books. Or type in "1991 dodge diesel" You'll find them new, reprinted or used. I have bought them for $95 and down to $27.

That one from Genos is a Factory Service Manual for the Dodge Ramchargers & Rams D&W150-350's. It covers everything on the truck in detail, none of this "reverse procedure" BS. On the early 1st Gens there is also a Diesel Suplement, that covers the diesel specific stuff, the diesel stuff is not in the regular FSM, the the whole truck is not in the Diesel Supplement. Get both, shop around and/or save your pennies...

Is this what you are suggesting? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-91- ... Literature

Will that cover all the wiring, and all that jazz in my '91.5 truck as well?

Thanks for all the information.
