i got a problem with my throttle cable where it conects with the rod to the pump,well the bushings in the spring linkage area are worn out and i cant find any one with some new ones is there a easier way to fix this?thanks guys i need this help fast the work truck is down

I know it will suck, but can't you run it without until you can find bushings?
Maybe try PepBoys, NAPA, or Tractor Supply, they have bins of bolts, clips and stuff. They have brass bushings, maybe you can find some that are the right size.

X2 what Pete said. The good local auto supply places around here have selector boxes full of those sort of goodies. The trick is finding and good supplier with a counter person that knows more about looking for stuff than just banging on the computer.

Also, if you get real desperate you could go to the bone yard and try to find anything off of any vehicle that will get you going short term. A lot of that kind of stuff turns out to be standard sizes that were used in many applications.

Are you talking about the Bellcrank bushings? The Throttle Shaft bushings? The little plastic ones? These are dirt cheap at Cummins man...

well this is what my dad got last night,brass tubin-didnt fit,a couple of bushings that fit the shaft but not the holes,and the lil red electrical bushings that are thicker on one side and those fit perfectly and i got a bunch left!when i had it apart i cleaned and painted the bracket and put some axle grease on the shaft that the big bushing for the spring is and put grease in where the throttle shaft goes and put it all together and it works perfectly now

I'm gonna recommend a part book again...

Actual Cummins 6BT5.9 Chrysler 250/350 Pickups. Again, worth more than the cost. Sold by the year model.

After reading this again I think your talking about the plastic bushings in the throttle lever/breakover spring assembly. Search around for the VE pump parts breakdown it's probably here or over on the DTR. There's two pieces that your after if I am right...

You'll have to get them from a Bosch injection shop etc.

Anyone know what items he really was talking about? It's tough when you don't know the item name. Imagine trying to get parts from Dodge. They often can't help you WITH the item number.

No kidding... 1st thing folks should do when they buy a vehicle is find all the FSM, Cummins part books and VE pump breakdowns.
