idlin too high

idlin too high

i have the top part of my pump off right now cuz it's cracked and leakingbut whenever i put it on i can't get it to idle any lower than 1000 rpm. any ideas on what i did wrong?

might be that the throttle lever is indexed one mark off. did you put it back in the same slots?. thats about the only thing that will do that if you didn't move the fuel screw.

i have the throttle lever completely off so it's as low as it'll go. i had the screw 2 1/2 trurns in but i put it back to stock and it's still at 1000

Is the throttle lever or linkage sticking? At idle, is the linkage free? or does it have a little tension on it?

no the lever is right off and i turned that shaft so it's as low as it'll go. could adjusting the afc star wheel be afficting this?

figured it out. it was the star wheel. i tuned that back and it works fine. still leaking though

That's weird that the starwheel made it idle down. It shouldn't affect it. :?

i know it's wierd but that fixed it. i heard that you can gain some power by lowering the spring pressure with that but i guess i'm outta luck there

The spring counter acts the boost that pushes the cone down. Spring down, little boost for extra fuel. Spring up, more boost for extra fuel.

My truck ideals high also. I got the screw turned almost to 1/8th of a turn from run away and i got the little ideal screw backed all the way out. What can i do to get the ideal down. Anything??

Reindex the throttle arm 1 notch clockwise (I think). That will make it idle really low with your current idle settings. Work back from there to 750-800 rpm for idle speed.
1992 W250, 300k, Getrag, BHAF, 4" exhaust, DDP fuel pin, Isspro gauges, +3 on the fuel screw, 3200rpm gov. spring, 16cm^2 housing
