I just bought a hx35 but instead of bolting together it is banded. I was wondering if there is a way to put an exhaust housing on it that will work with the old style downpipe

Are you talking about the exhaust housing and how it attaches to the center cartridge? If there is a band clamp there, you got a HY35, likely with a 9cm housing, and it barely an upgrade, if it is at all.

Yes this is where the band is. So this is not much of an upgrade at all. Well is it worth putting on or will it not make much of a difference.
