'03 wheels on a '97

Postby peobryant » Wed Apr 08, 2009 2:13 pm

My brother just bought an '03 Common Rail that has Eagle Alloys on it (its a pretty sharp truck, for a 3rd gen) and the previous owner let him have the stock wheels. My dad wants to put them on his truck, so will they just bolt up, or will he have to do some modifying?

Thanks

They'll bolt on, but it'll look kinda like a ginourmous dually motorcycle with all that negatve offset and probably rub somewhere, depending on lift/tires.

Sometimes I just skip to the end before I finish reading the question if I think I already know the answer. Or in this case, skip the beginning and go straight to the end.

He put them on today, but the caps for the rear wheels didn't fit...?

There was a lifted reg cab 93 4x4 forsale on one of the sites that had 06 wheels on it and it looked great. It was a single wheel.

The 4wd 1st gens are super easy to put 3rd gen wheels on. Its the 2wd trucks that are very hard to do. I know, we did it on my 91.5. Never again without adapters on a 2wd. . . . . .
