non ac heater

Postby redneckroot » Tue May 12, 2009 8:26 pm

My old cab had ac that didn't work and wasn't all there, the new cabs heater is a non ac unit. the only real problem I see is the heater core dumps out on the fender side instead of inline with the coolant lines off the motor, but I am wondering will my old dash work or do I have to run the old crappy ac heater set up?

Tom, I have the non-A/C heater unit from my 86 donor truck. Let me know if you need it. It looks the same as the one in my '92.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Pete if you have a non ac unit in your truck could you send me a picture of how you have the hoses run off the motor to the heater core? Thanks.

On a different note has anyone painted their dash, how did it hold up? What kind of paint did you use?

Well, uh, I couldn't remember which hose went to which port, so I just stuck them on. I can tell you that they go in the fender side of the heater unit. The A/C ones go in the drivers end of it.
All my buddies that have 1st gens, I looked at their trucks for hose routing, and the SOB's all have A/C. Damn them!
