custom VE pump finally done

Postby seeker1056 » Wed May 13, 2009 12:13 pm

well my man Giles at Performance Diesel Injection has come through

320 cc's of fuel to 4000 rpm, and no discernable issues usin 25 psi inlet fuel pressure and 125 case pressure - and still have two full turns of the fuel screw left to play with - however i be leavin well enough alone

Note - this is with no boost referenced fuel supply either - just 25 psi pressure all the time

With no govenor spring (modified vw setup) he says I could go higher rpm, but nobody knows the longevity of the 14mm past that rpm and we dont wish to find out at the moment. Currently running the 354 spring.

Cant wait for pullin season to start so we can see how we do!!!

that is the 14mm, with a 2.8 cam plate, and two full turns of the fuel screw left

I will leave "more" fuel for next winters R&D - or not as the case may be lol

depends on hwo the thing works out

I will have Giles workin on an all out 5000 rpm 12mm shortly

mm said it got a piece of crap in it from the cam plate explosion

If I have time next month I may venture over to the same dyno CK ran on just to see what she will do - however that will be a long shot as I am still a bare frame at the moment (total new truck rebuild) and the head isnt back yet from gittin the bigger valves n springs n things installed

If I am anywhere in the fives I will be extremely happy

time will tell

I was going to have Giles build me a 12mm pump with the vw gov assembly, but I have run low on motivation to work on the truck recently.

I have had at least 4 Giles VW VE pumps built though. Including one that ran just shy of 200hp @ 6000rpm +, on a stock 9mm. Giles figured that pump still had more in it, and we were going to send it back, but the motor ended up dropping a prechamber from a poor casted mexico cast head, before it had a chance to go back.

Bump for a good guy that builds some super pumps.

Governor

Postby Giles@PerformanceDiesel » Thu May 21, 2009 5:26 am

Hey guys
Giles here, it's a pleasure to be on this forum and hope we can all
work together to make some great HP/Torque.

Ken has said that his last pump we built for him has the VW governor
setup, that's not correct. it has the "354" 4200 rpm gov spring.

yes the 14mm head did seize up on the bench because a part of the
broken cam plate got in. i managed to fix it very carefully with a fine
hone stone by hand.

so he's got the 14mm head and 320cc's of fuel which is 3x stock fuel
and still just over stock fuel at 0 boost. like he said 2 turns of fuel
left to play with on the dyno or truck pull days.

look forward to dealing with more of you on a personal basis

o lot less than a modded vp44 or modded p-pump - or twin cp3 and I suspect with the exception of all out efforts will provide equal hp in the high 4's to low 500 hp ranges - all things bein equal
