I think you will find that the plastic end tanks were available at the same time as the aluminum ones. Mine is a 2001 unit. It was in a 7.3 powerstoke truck. The 6.0's are to big.

1999 to 2002 early 2003

Check for aluminum or plastic end tanks. IIRC the earlier ones are for sure aluminum.

I appreciate your whacking off the Ferd mounts that are in the way of moving that fat boy up. What did you do about the hood's safety latch? I'm considering moving mine to the side.

- Anybody know the upper limit of boost for these?

Those have some pretty small/thin end tanks.

My foot's way too heavy. Even with the conservative twins (HX35/40~HT3B), I'm afraid I'd pop the PS/IC in short order.

Looks like somebody forgot to latch the bonnet safety catch on that aeroplane!

WRT to the hood safety catch on a CTD, I addressed that by positioning the I/C vertically such that the latch works by grinding a half inch off the bottom of it and just kissing the top of the IC when closed - after it made a nice little dent in it the first time.

That looks like how I installed mine. I took that whole angle brace out of there. Then put about a 10x3x1/4" plate in there to give everything extra support. I was also able to reinstall the vertical support brace that is out in front of everything.

Now for the safety latch. I grabbed one off a jeep cherokee, turned it upside down and it latches onto the metal rod on the hood that the regular latch grabs.

What if the bar breaks? That's why they latch in 2 different spots. ;)
I'd like to see a pic of how you did it. Inquiring minds want to know!

No, that was a "what if". I've never even had a hood fly open on me, but I've seen a few. It's just a safety thing to have 2 different spots.
