looking for injectors

Postby dodge09 » Wed Sep 30, 2009 11:31 pm

i was wondering what would be a set of injectors to buy for my 92 W350 5speed. say i have a south bend clutch my fuel pump turned up as far as she will go befor runnaway. 3200 gov spring. custom ground fuel pin and cold air intake. so i think all i lack is injectors and timming. well im looking for 40 or so HP gain but at a good price. i was wondering about POD's. if they would get me the gain i want. well if any one know please reply.

POD's will probably get you the gain you want, but they are very dirty and inefficient injectors, so you will also gain a lot of heat and smoke, and lose some of your mileage. If you're not concerned with that, then POD's would probably be okay, and they are the cheapest injector I know of, but there are certainly better options out there.

If you don't care about smoke or mileage, then you could also consider a set of 6X.016's. I know Richie has a set, and likes them, but says they haze a lot, (he is running stock timing I believe) and I don't believe he gets very good mileage with them either. PureDieselPower has a set of them for around $500 I believe, which is not much more expensive than POD's.

On Edit: I looked on their website, and couldn't find the 6X.016's anymore, but I did find some others that might interest you, for a pretty good price. They have EDM'd 5X.014's (435's, advertised as a 120hp gain) for $479, and they also have DDP injectors, which they say are brand new, so they require no core, from $474, to $712. Keep in mind I have never used a set of PureDieselPower injectors, so I'm not sure of their quality, but their prices are hard to beat.
