i have a 90 non inter cooled.. pump is turned all the way down...all the way..... it still runnin 900-1000 degrees and my temp probe is 2 inches behind the flange on my down pipe. (i def did not put it there, it was like that). i have stock downpipe and 4 inch. to 5 inch tips. so flow isnt a problem. i put new air filter and such,, i was told an hx-35 would do me alot cooler?? any ideas. i cant even drive the damn thing it worrys me

Sounds like the timing is retarded too much. Sounds funny and very high EGT's. Does it smoke white?
Try pushing the pump to towards the head and see if it gets better.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

You can run it all day long at 1000* ,when it get's over 1350* then thats when you need to worry.

Keep in mind his probe is in the downpipe, so he's probably right around 1200* or more. Also, he says it is doing it with a turned down pump, which is not the norm.

It sounds weird, and the EGTs are high

Sounds like retarded timing to me. Definely

CHeck your airflow. If the filter is clogged, it will run high EGTs. For that matter, check your fuel filter, and lift pump output. If the filter is clogged, or the pump isnt up to par, the pump cant compound the inlet pressure like it needs to, and the result can be high EGT, low power.

Stick a dial indicator in the pump and time it right. Start with stock for a baseline.

IF that fails, get your injectors tested. If it has seen light duty since the fuel system rebuild, it may be time for a reset.

I still vote timing.
