are you tryin to fit 38's or CLEAR 38's. you can fit 35s stock so a 4 inch would fit 38s but depending on width and wheel offset you might have to get out the BFH for the front. a 6 inch would clear decently though.

Also, does anyone know of a kit to slightly raise the front springs on a d 250 cause i got 33's i think and they fit, but rub bad in the front when turning.

I'm wondering what the difference is between "fitting" and "clearing?" I have 3" of lift and 34's (285/75-17) with 1.25" adapters to push them out a bit and they still rub the bottom rear corner of the front fender turning on moderate articulation.

They're only 285's, so not really a "big" tire in terms of the wide mudders alot of people like. The wheel wells on these trucks are not conducive to properly mounting big tires without alot of lift. I guess I'd say mine "fit" but don't really "clear."

I have 9 inches on my 75 and still had to trim the wheel wells to keep 38.5 out of them. The amount of lift needed will be dependent on what you will do with the truck. If you just want to look good and drive on level roads then you can get away with less lift then if you plan to do alot offroad.

well i have 33's (or metric equvilant) on mine and have no issues what so ever. you can fit a 35 in there as long as its not to wide (and you dont run spacers that stick it out so it hits the fender when turnin :) ) but it probably will rub a little. a buddy of mine had 35's on his (89) and it touched slightly when turnin. that to me is fittin and tire. now what i meant by clearing is you have to do no body mod or anything and it doesnt rub at all or come close to it even.

I have 6" Skyjacker with 37 x 13.5 Toyos. I have pics from one of the previous owners of it with 38s on it a couple yrs back. Clearance looks pretty tight, which would explain why the corners of my flares are trimmed an inch or two. The 37s clear fine so far.

On my 93 I have 37-12.50 on 17's and they rub the back of the wheel well with saggy stock springs. I have a set of 38.5-16 on 16.5" wheels and with 4" and some mild cosmetic rounding of the fender, I should be able to flex decent. Right now with the wheel straight I can hang a tire on one side and still not be close on the other. But maybe it's just my Michigan rusted frame thats letting me flex more than the average lumber wagon
