Pensacola Injectors? Good or bad?

Postby chico_mustangs » Wed Nov 25, 2009 12:50 am

I searched and didn't find much. Has anyone ran the 30-40hp Pensacola injectors on their 1st gen? I looked through their feedback on ebay and everyone that bought them had good things to say. Does anyone have forst hand experience with them? Also another question while I have your attention, would a 2nd gen 12v or 24v turbo be an upgrade from a 1st gen intercooled turbo?

Thanks!!!

The turbo would be a small upgrade. If your stocker is on its last legs, it'd be a good deal to get you by. They do have the mapwidth slots that the older ones lack.

Ask Pensacola Diesel if their injector tips are 1stGen specific, and about the pop pressure (should be around 245 bar, or 35-3600psi). If they hem and haw around, go elsewhere- they dont know 1stGens.

Never ran their 12v stuff, but I have run their 24 stuff in some fleet buses with no problems.

I'm running their POD's and they run fine. Good customer support and fast shipping.

I'm so confused... Ok so I called up pensicola diesel and they told me that all of the injectors from 88-93 are the same and the only ones that are different are the auto vs manual which I know is untrue. I asked him a couple other questions, he had an attitude and pretty much blew me off. He also didn't know what the pop pressure or angle was.

I spoke to an older gentleman at Diesel Care & Performance, he told me that the 91.5-98 Injectors are all interchangeable and the ones they sell fit that year range. He also told me the pop pressure was 250 bar. He said that they have 60hp for $289 and 100hp for $329.

Can anyone make any sense of this? All I want to know is which injectors to order, I don't need anything crazy and don't plan on ever making crazy power with my truck. All I want is to be able to easily pull 8k lbs up a hill without going 35mph. I have a fuel pin, full 3-3.5in exhaust, turned up wheel, and an intake.

I have a set of +40 injectors that have been rebuilt (3 months ago) and I'm looking to get some bigger sticks (got a 14mm H+R). Any interest in a gently used set? PM me.
