New fuel system

Postby Oddfire » Mon Nov 23, 2009 8:02 pm

I am building a 1/2" system and need to get some ideas on the fitting into the pump. Could any one post a photo of what they did?

Thanks ;)

I got a 12mm x 1.5mm to 8 JIC adapter from Vulcan, used a 8 JIC 90 degree cast elbow and I drilled the side of it for 1/8 pipe thread for my fuel pressure gauge. Works great.

Had to modify part of the throttle to get it top fit.

It clears everthing else fine. I also got a viton sealing washer for the fitting that screws into the pump. It has never leaked a drop.

Do not get the pre drilled 90 degree piece from vulcan, it has the wrong side drilled for this application, it is drilled so the gauge line points up, not to the side. Ran it from there to a gauge isolator.

This is the regulator that I used:
Mallory 4307M - Mallory Universal Fuel Pressure Regulators for Fuel Injection - Overview - SummitRacing.com

I'd say it's not an issue if it's rated for gasoline/alky. Also, here is a list of everything I ordered from Vulcan (quantity first, rice second). Note, this does not include the pump, the fuel hose, clamps, and a few other little odds and ends I used but you get the idea and see what fittings are needed to tie into the fuel system.

FFVPU Filter to injection hose kit 1 33.99

PLG06 Pipe plug 3/8 NPT 1 1.19
