5x.012s are in!

Postby IowaCummins » Mon Dec 07, 2009 6:31 pm

oh yeah the injectors are in and runnin. i bought these injectors from Red oak diesel clinic. they are some nice units. i had the stock 6x .009s in and were pretty good a max of 40 pounds of boost at 1275 degrees. that is with fuel pin turned in as far as it will go, 3200 spring, smoke screw at stock settings and pin pin turned to its deepest setting and a Aurora 3000 as the charger. installed injectors, im hitting around 52 pounds of boost and i havent been able to get a max egt cause of too much power and no dry streets. awesome power all the way through the rpm range. great tourqe and just a great mod for me. my 1/2" lines are going on in a week or so with dual fuel filters and 2nd gen piston pump with boost reference regulator.

haha thats the funny thing. so when i went to order them. stan wanted to go for a ride in my truck so i gave him my keys. before we started driving we were checking out the engine bay. he noticed a hint of anitfreeze. then as we were driving we smelled it also. got done driving and was standing infront of the truck and noticed a half dollar sized drip of the green stuff. sure enough front right corner of the head was leaking. i retourqed them. and the front bolts were just soft. so arps are on the way.

I know what you bought, guess the spray paint adds a few dollars.

how about maybe elaborating on this. lots of guys are hunting for injectors (including me after the 1st of the year) and while i'm sure your comments are funny in the proper context, they do very little to help any other members of this site. just an idea.

If you buy injectors from an Ebay seller whom gives no technical information about the product, you need not ask my opinion.

ok, i'll give you that. i don't use evilbay either. but i didn't see that come up till now. i was commenting on the cynicism present in your post. i am buying some 5 x 14's in january and am trying to research different vendors to get a great product at a good price. nothing personal, but 1st gen injectors and suppliers are way more complicated than they should be and i didn't see your original 2 posts as helpful.

i will be contacting you for an injector quote when i'm ready to buy.

I build injectors for a few projects and for SDX, I deal with Chris and Jamie both daily, feel free to contact them with any questions. The differenece is that you can actually get the information you want to know about what you are buying, and change what modifications are done to them if you choose.
