Performance VE

Postby ZSkibo » Mon Dec 14, 2009 6:42 pm

Ok, so with all this talk of VE seals and internal tweaks beyond the normal stuff (366 spring etc.) who would you get to build a 14mm VE for you? Or a regular 12mm but with all the various bells and whistles done? I did my 366 spring and it wasn't bad but I've never had the pump off the truck. I'm installing 5x18's soon and have been considering a 14mm H&R but this is a DD so I want it setup right. Does anyone do this work?

A lot of people say it is the 4mm camplate that makes it unreliable, but I personally would never run a 14mm H/R on my daily driver.

A legendary (some say mythical) artifact that is seen as a panacea to the first gen world. Something similar to the flux capacitor crossed with the Sasquatch; they can't possibly exist in levels to match their popularity, and only the possibility of their existence keeps them (and us in general)from lapsing into irrelevance.

I personally believe that their may be a few out there, but they are aligned with aurora borealis along certain leylines and therefore only appear on solstices, equinoxes and other days with substantial pagan significance.

I have a 14mm h/r on my duallie and it's gets driven plenty in the summer months and I have never has a problem now with 2 seasons of driving. I would never use it in a cold climate. Last time I fired that truck up when it was right around freezing the fuel wouldn't burn completely and I smoked out the entire block. You couldn't see buildings around my truck anymore and all the neighbors said their houses stunk of diesel lol. Just to much fuel! I had my local pump shop build my pump but he is VERY capable and more of an engineer then a pump tech. He said it took a lot of work to get the pump within factory specs. I say go ahead and install it in your DD but be aware it's not as reliable as a 12mm head/rotor but it's well worth it. Remeber the life of a 14mm is all about initial setup, fuel supply/pressure, and having large injectors.
