did i run out of diesel?

Postby stock91w350 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:26 pm

My fuel gauge says 1/4 tank, ive drivin this truck down to E before with no problems but 2day while i was plowing i was in first gear taking off, i let off the gas to look be hind me, since the truck is so low geard when u let off like i did it throws u forward like if i was hitting the brakes and when it did that it chugged and stalled and wont start now. i pushed the pump levar a bunch of times and that dident help. i only had a pair of vice grips with me so i could only get to crack 3 of the lines but it still wouldent start. do i need to crack all lines or is there something else rong with my truck? my brothers 02 only needs 3 lines cracked for it to start again? ps .when i replaces my fuel lines awile ago i dident need to crack any lines just pumped the levar on the pump and it started up pretty quick

but thinking back, it probably dident suck air when i replaced the fuel lines but running out of fuel will right? so it would be harder to get it running after running out of fuel then it would from replacing the lines?

Your fuel shutoff solenoid may have burned up. That happened to me drivingdown the road right after a hard acceleration when I left off the throttle, it stopped dead and wouldnt fire back up
