So I have decided to quit screwing around with the dana 70 in my 93 and install a 14 bolt. I found a good one, with the right rear ratio. I think I'm gonna stuff it in there. The spring perches are a little different, and the parking brake cable ends are a little different. The only other big difference that I can find, is that it is an inch narrower at the wheel mounting surface. An inch wider would make me nervous.(it might make the turing circle wider) I can weld the spring perches to the right width, same with the parking brake cable levers, and backing plate's. The brakes are the same width and diameter. The only other problem that I can see is the yoke. It is either a new yoke or conversion joint away, from working. I really like the three pinion bearings and, the fact that there is an easy adjustment on the back lash on the ring and pinion, but it will never need it. My truck has stock pump settings, and I do not beat it. It will however, pull heavy from time to time, but not often. Does anyone have any experience on this swap? Will it hold up? Sure seems like it will. I have never had any problems with any full floater 14 bolt rear, in chevys. It doesn't seem like the cummins will break it, unless I abuse the snot out of it. 1st gen god's, gimmie some feedback please!!!
