Postby Bad93Cummins » Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:35 pm

Is it worth it? Does it do anything mileage or perfromance wise?

All you'll see...

Postby ZSkibo » Mon Jan 25, 2010 4:03 pm

All you'll most likely see are slightly lower (50 degrees maybe) EGT and boost due to better flow of air. Nothing that you'll feel driving. Oh, and harder starting if your low temps are under 30. That said, I don't run my heater in the summer time (just cuz) but it's not really a performance mod. Just eliminates battery drawdown on starting I guess.

Where you are so far south, it may be a smart thing to do. If you do end up with big injectors and it does get cold you will miss your grid heaters.

I'm probably gonna end up doing the same thing. After Cummins I'll probably try to get a job fixing generatorson oil rigs or work for the railroad. BNSF heavily recruits vets and I've talked to one of their recruiters and he said I shouldn't have a problem getting a job with them. They pay very well and I believe it's also a union job. Anyway...didn't mean to hijack the thread, carry on lol.
