WH1C vs. HX 35

Postby Moebiusgold » Mon Jan 25, 2010 7:07 pm

So, I bought a HX 35 off of buyer beware-bay and when it showed up, it was a WH1C instead. The seller says I could send it back. But then he claims that the thrust bearing is better on it then the HX series. I have not heard that claim before. I am more concerned that it limits me from upgrading to the 6 blade 60 mm compressor. I have to admit I was more after a wastegated turbine. I'm trying to get the low RPM smoke to go away and not trying to make big numbers. But then I wouldn't mind putting on a 6 blade 60 mm compressor housing (which can only happen on a HX) on it if that is not enough to clean it up. That is cheap enough. What does everyone think. Send it back or keep it? Pros and cons of either. Thanks

A WH1C is watsegated. From conversations in the past, I don't think there is really any difference between an HX35 and a WH1C. You could call HTT (or whoever you planned on getting the 60mm compressor upgrade from ) and see if it will work with a WH1C. If not, send it back, if it does work, just keep it.

I don't know about a WH1C, but I know you put a 60mm 6 blade on an H1C. I have one, from HTT.

Clean and reset of the injectors may do more to eliminate smoke than a faster spooling turbo.

You can get a 60mm upgrade for the WH1C.
