mpg's

Postby stock91w350 » Sun Jan 31, 2010 1:04 pm

when my trucks fuel guage was flush on the E line i put 6 gallons in and kept trck of my miles i went 80-85 miles before it was flush on E again, i figure thats between 13.5-14.5 mpg's. my star wheel is is a down a bit and smoke screw is down also, i have a fuelpin and a home made air intake, also has a straight threw exhaust with a 5" stack, all my driving is in a small town where i never get into 5th gear, i have 1000lbs of weight in the rear. after all those factors does it sound like normal fuel milage? cause i would think id be getting a lil better. the pump's power screw has the stock colar stop and its aways away from hitting so it cant be turned up much. i had a new fuel filter and water seperator put on and i noticed that it is leaking, seems minor but maybe that a factor also?

You need to fill your tank all the way up. Keep track of the miles over the whole tank and then fill all the way up again. Just going by the fuel gage will not be very exact.

Yeah that sounds about right for winter fuel and conditions. The best way to check is to fill it all of the way up so you can see the fuel in filler neck then fill to the same point again.
