I think around 6 or 7 lbs of pressure is when timing begins to advance, so guys like me/us are not getting the full benefit of retarted timing when we all have our 15 psi pumps.
Question I have is how much pressure and/or rpm before timing is maxed out?
If your going to run a rising rate regulator, I would start @ 5-7 psi then let it go from there or, if you are worried about popping a seal out, use a bleeder screw on the boost reference line to the regulator so it does not rise at 1:1 ratio maybe only 1:1/2. One pound of boost to 1/2 pound of fuel pressure.
Another question; can the inlet hole into the injection pump be drilled out? I think it is only 5/16". If it is possible, would it do any good to drill it out to 3/8"? That would be about 43% larger.
