14mm rotor and 4mm camplate

Postby dazedandconfused » Mon Oct 11, 2010 5:14 pm

Is anyone running them with success? Only articles I found were from 08.

In competition only vehicles, yes. In daily drivers, not so much...

Gotcha. I'm building a 2wd puller so road use is not an issue.

I think it would work if you didn't take it past 3,500rpm....or maybe even 3,000 rpm.....

However, mine was tested at 4,000rpm a few times, and then it no workie :D Too bad you need rpm for sled pullers.
It put out 440cc, which was pretty darn good, but my current pump with a regular camplate puts out 370cc, which isn't bad either.

I read somewhere that you can use the 14mm head with a smaller cam plate and it will live. Any truth to that and would it make a big enough difference to warrant the expense?

Wasn't there a guy with a Ford puller that had a 14mm VE in it? Or did he switch to a P7100? I can't remember his username...

Uh...yes? I have a 14mm that has a few thousands street, daily driver, and dyno miles on it, and it's still fine. And with 370cc at 2,500rpm, 600-700rwhp should be attainable, so yep, I would say it was worth it!

Well I have a few pumps now so may have to have one built with a 4mm camplate and 14mm head. I don't see me carrying more then 3500-3700 rpms if I'm lucky.

It does!! I'm adding another stage. Also adding a lock up trans and 10 deg of timing

Hopefully those two things will fix my 20% converter slip and big ol flame out the exhaust problems. After that I may finally add an intercooler :D
