I have a Delphi ebay special lift pump- 11-12psi after a fresh filter at idle and cruise. Pulls down to about 9psi on a hard WOT run (near stock truck, though- 25psi boost with my 60/16). Doesnt cost as much as the Cummins pump, flows better than a stock diaphragm pump. It's another option if you dont want to go hog wild with the power. I wouldnt run an electric pump- if I wanted that, I'd get a 2ndGen 24V.

that seems like a good deal it will hold 9psi under WOT, worst part about a 24v is that they cast the block with no provisions for a cam driven bugger

Put a nonIC cam in the 24V- better profile, and you have the lift pump lobe. (the 24V engine still has only 12 pushrods; it has a bridge under the rocker arm)

dpucket, i think they cast off the area for the mechanical lift pump on the block too, tho i do agree a non i/c cam is a better profile

I pulled the fuel pump and mount off of a 99 before and the hole was there. May not be on all but it was on that one.

Never paid any attention, and now it's all black. I can tell you that I got it from the Case dealer I work at and that it's a Cummins pump in a Case box. I didn't glue the seal, the VE has never been off. She'll run out to 3500 rpm's and I have a set of 370's, 5x.012's.

The CASE pump is now over 350 bucks. The part number got updated and the price took a huge jump. It is now cheaper to go with a cummins dealer. Their pump was 185 last I knew.

you've never done anything to your IP seal? I want the LPPP but don't feel like taking the IP off if I don't have to?

With the stock lines I never had over 16psi, then only on startup when it was cold. I didn't have a strainer in line before the LPPP and scarfed the piston with crud on the way to SOP last year. Pressure dropped to 13psi tops after that. I decided I needed more fuel so i upgraded the line.
I'm not saying the seal won't blow out, it depends on lots of factors, how tight in the bore it is, how old it is, etc. I'll worry about that bridge when it falls in......or out, as the case may be! ;)
If you're worried, pull the IP and fix the seal, or not, the choice is up to you and how worried you are about it.

Anyone know if these cummins part numbers are lppp part numbers? Cummins #s 3936316, 3933252, 3932224, 3930134, 3925709. There's a pump on eBay that's case but these are the cummins replacment numbers, just wondering if it's goona work on my truck? It's only like 100$!
