Lund visor

Postby Remps » Wed Nov 03, 2010 8:27 am

My 93 has a lund visor on it, and at high speeds, 65-80 mph, or even just a certain crosswind, the darn thing vibrates like crazy. You can see it vibrating, and it rumbles the whole cab. It feels like it wants to rip right off. Anyone else with visors have airflow issues?

Check the fastening screws and the metal they are screwed into. Sounds like something is loose or possibly missing.

That is the first thing I checked. I should've mentioned the truck also has a Deflectashield bug deflector. I'm going to remove the bug deflector and see if that helps at all. :/

The bug deflector will probably make it worse. Moves air more upwards, or at least with more force. Sheet metal screws aren't strong enough to hold the visor. will eventually fatigue the sheet metal, start cracks and pull out of the roof.

Finally got the 93 on the road again, minus the bug deflector. Took it up to 85 mph, no visor vibration whatsoever. So I guess that particular combination of bug deflector and visor doesn't work too well.
