TOO DARN LOUD!

Postby jbplaster » Thu Dec 23, 2010 4:51 pm

I know most of you guys want to make these things stronger, smokier & louder, but I'm trying to hear myself talk. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, etc. for making it a bit more peaceful in the cab?

Get a 4" exhaust all the way from the turbo back. Anything before the rear wheel gets really loud in the cab.

And search for BC847 and ask him what muffler he has in his truck. IIRC, its 4" in and 4" out, HUGE and quiet.

Lots of dynamat type material applied everyplace you can get it will make a night and day diffrence. Another big factor is the tread pattern on your tires. Lug/ mug snow and even some AT tires can be ver loud by nature.

I bought a big box of Dynamat Xtreme ($160) when I had my interior out. Did the whole floor, roof and rear cab wall. HUGE difference. It's pretty nice now, still need to get some more for the doors but it is night and day. I can't even hear my straight pipe with the windows up. :D

Richie; You need to fix your reverse lights!
