I cut them. Mine were in good shape but had a small ridge.

Ok,

My ebrake is tight, one click and it's engaged. Makes no difference in pedal hight or stiffness if ebrake is engaged. drum starwheels are adjusted up tight, shoes dragging slightly. So I decided to rule out the master cylinder and replaced it. The old master was going bad for sure as there was fluid leaking out the back seal where it mounts by the vac booster. However changing the master didnt make a huge difference. brought up my pedal a little more, but not much. rebled the entire system again. Still not what I was hoping for. (and I was certain to throughly bench bleed the new master. )

Still can't figure out what's wrong. :evil: Bottom line is I have Too much pedal travel, and the brakes are feeling spongy. I don't know what else it could be. Vac booster seems ok? I think I'm going to try to bleed it one more time, and this time instead of using my power bleeder, I'm going to use the old school bleeding method, someone pump and hold the brakes while I release the bleeder screws one by one.

If that don't work then I'm going to start by taking off the rear drums & inspect.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Pull the MC off and adjust the push rod a bit. See if that helps.

Thanks Oldest. While the master was off I had actually looked at that pushrod & measured it. If I measured it right it was pushing the mc piston about 0.100 so I didnt bother adjusting it. Not sure how much thread there is on that pushrod (there was about 3/8" worth of thread showing,) but I'll try turning it out some.

Nope. Eliminated it and replaced ALL of the steel and rubber brake lines on the truck.
