winshield wipers gone nuts

Postby manyholes » Fri Jul 08, 2011 12:53 pm

hey guys, was running the truck in the mountains in BC and it started to overcharge, tried to make it to the next town, spiked to 18+volts, trailer brake in the truck started smoking, shut the truck down , fried a pile of electrical, trailer brake, pump soleniod, all lights . had to pull the fuse on the wiper motors because they are stuck on. changed out the voltage regulator, batttery, cleaned the engine and body ground, fuel soleniod, truck is running good now less wipers. any input would be apreciated thanks

well the rain let up so i dug around a bit, intermitent wiper relay is fried behind the ashtray. wipers now work, just all or nothing, partstore tomorrow lol. at least it beats having to pull a fuse the last couple of days
