How far can you turn the smoke screw in? Has anyone done away with the jam nut and screwed it in way far?

It will only go in until it hits the oring groove and it stops. The jam nut is not what keeps it from going further.

Are you talking about the fuel screw or smoke screw?

I was talking about the low boost screw on top of the pump

From what I can see in my AFC cap the smoke screw really doesnt do very much but start the fuel pin a few mm down @ low boost. The star wheel and spring rate underneath is where the actual tuning comes from. The set screw atop is just the starting point of the fuel pin does not affect fuel pin max travel or rate of movement vs boost

from my experience when i turn the starwheels up all the way it just cuts my boost down by 10, so i leave it bottomed, and the smoke screw, well i cant tell much of a difference at this point, it just smokes alot alll the time, but i have just bottomed the smoke screw on other pickups affor and it did help low end off the line a little+ a nice little cloud :D
