Idle screw is to be turned down until proper idle speed is attained, however many turns that takes.

Just turn the idle down so its lower than normal and bring it back up with the fuel screw. Don't forget to have a flat board ready. And remove intake tube from the turbo.

As for getting the collar off, i put the fuel screw in a vise with wood shims to protect the threads and used a chisel to split the collar and pliers to pull it off. I used a file on the rough spots and carefully backed the nut off to straighten the threads. It'd be better to use a tap and die set...

^x2 It took me a few trial-and-errors since i have an auto. If the idle is too high, it'll go 15 mph just idling down the road and you have to ride the brakes to go any slower

I got the idle down right but ever since I turned the power screw in it has been idling erratically. What should I do about that

Sounds maybe like it may not be getting enough fuel toa injector.or 2 not a smooth idle . It isn't surging or hunting. It is not smoking but when increase throttle it runs perfect

Could it be idling too low? If you bring the idle up, it smooths out. Mine idled so low that it shook the whole truck and almost stalled. It would sound rough and choppy, and as soon as i touched the gas pedal, it was normal again until i let it return to idle

could be, yes jus adjust the idle up and see what happens, im sure yul know when its to high or to low for your likes, the screw closest to the head if you didnt know, or you could try adjusting it from the throttle rod

It was doing it before I turned the idle down. Ill drive it a little maybe it just needs to run longer. I didn't take it out and put a load on it or anything.
