Windshield Wipers

Postby peobryant » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:40 pm

My drivers side windshield wiper took a crap on me today. As I was driving home from work I heard a grinding sound and the wiper stopped moving.

I haven't looked at it yet (because it's raining) but I'm assuming there are some plastic bushings or something that needs to be replaced. My question is, where can I buy these? I've looked online but haven't been able to find what I need.

Thanks.

You'll find them in the HELP! section of O'Reillys.
Upon install use NO lube. It will make them squeak and squall. If you must lube them then use some spray silicone. You can find that at Walmart. Its synthetic and won't harden the bushings.

Figures they're easy to find. I called my local AutoZone and asked about them and they said they've never heard of such a thing. They told me it would be a dealer only item. I figured it was horse crap but didn't even bother calling NAPA to ask, as they're not much better around here.

Thanks guys.

Oh don't worry, I didn't plan on going to the dealership. I thought it was ridiculous they said it was a dealer only part which is why I asked on here before I made the trip to prove them wrong. We don't have the most intelligent people working in auto parts stores around here.
