I did about 18 months ago. It was a non intercooled first gen. It was pretty trashed though, and the owner of the place wanted crack whore prices for parts off a Honda Civic Wagon I was trying to get, so I didn't bother asking.

I guess it begs the question: why were you looking for civic wagon parts?....especially when there was a cummins there.

I seen one about four years ago, at Doug's Four Wheelers in Pella IA, it was a IC W250 with a getrag, it was mostly complete, minus the trans and tcase. Engine was still there. The guy who owns the place has soooo much good stuff back in there, acres and acres of Ford, GM and Dodge trucks, but he wants stupid prices on everything...

Iowa is a hot bed of Cummins engine stuff for reasonable.
Bought a '91-1/2 engine, with the intercooler and all accessories for $600 from a yard near Des Moines 3 months ago.

Just yesterday I picked up a burned P-pumped one from a later '90s bus, which was in a scrap engine pile.
Paid 20 cents/pound and it's one that has an HX35W with a 14cm exhaust housing as well as an un-cracked low-mount exhaust manifold, both sought after pieces.

So yeah, I do see Cummins in junkyards.

I did spot a "could be decent" crew cab last friday at 2&92 Truck Parts in Silvis IL, it has taken a bit of a hit on the pillar and rocker between the doors, but the floors are perfect and there is no roof rot. Looked like it was an old service/fleet truck. I KNOW of a 78 D200 crew in Muscatine IA that was, probably still is, for sale, its tucked back in the weeds, so I'm bettin that there is a bit of rot. Could make one decent cab out of the two???? I love hittin up the wrecking yards here!!!

Back before we were really into 1st gen dodge trucks, we just had the 91 D250 in pieces.

There was a club cab W350 dually in the junkyard, missing the cummins but the A518 and the converter were there. the red interior was loaded and had a nice split cloth bench and cruise control stuff and gauge cluster and all that and my dad and i LEFT IT ALL THERE- the only thing we got from the truck were 2 banks gauges we got for $20 and the intercooler and rad support which both turned out to be junk......

I think about it ALL THE TIME- i lose sleep every night over not getting those "Power Ram 350" badges off the fenders---and the cruise control stuff! and the trans! what idiots we were lol

Around here you have to be on a privileged waiting list to even know they have one. They won't let you into the yards to "browse".
