While I was hiding at work today I threw this together.

Manual boost controller, just like the Ricers have, only I didn't pay $20-$150 for it.

I had to play around with springs a bit, but I've got it in the range of 15-60PSI adjustability. It may go higher than 60, but I was testing it with no clamps on the barbs and I could see the hose coming off of them as it got higher.

Moar!!!

No thumbnails since I'm on my phone.

Got the dump and DP welded up.

And yes, Andrew, I drove it around with the twins. The S300 is silent while cruising now, but that may be due to it not having a hood. I did get peer-pressure'd into a burnout while leaving the garage.

A one-wheel-peel, but turbos were heard spooling. :D

Dude, it was pouring the rain today. My stock jeep would do a burnout today. :P

Did you pay any attention to your gauges?

Gauges? What are those?

It jumped to 30psi really quick, then dropped down to around 10 and picked up again to 30psi and hung there.

I assume the first 30 was both turbos, then the 90* blew off between turbos and the 2nd 30 was just the S300. The 90* wasn't held on with any clamps, so it blew off pretty quick.

Can't wait to get it all hooked up and see if any of it actually works.

I will say that my S300 is pretty silent now. When I gave it some fuel on the way home you could hear them both spool up right together.

Really wicked sounding, but I'm gonna miss hearing the S300 screaming around like it used to.

You'll forget all about the s300 screaming when the s400 starts whining.

Took it out today to see what you were talking about, Hineman. The only gaskets I had on it were the manifold to head ones, the rest was just tightened down best I could get it.(I've got the gaskets, but I don't want to forget something and have to buy all new ones when I have to take it apart.)

Anyways, I got it wound up to around 40PSI after it warmed up a bit. With the exhaust dumping right under the truck between the cab and the bed, the S300 could just barely be heard. The S400 seems to just get wound up right as I shift in normal driving, so it lets out a really nice noise between shifts.

I can't wait to get my gaskets all in it this week and see what it can actually do.

No gaskets?!

How much soot was rolling out from the hood (if it was on the truck :P )?

Was 40psi all she had?

Not as much as I expected. There were a couple of really good jets coming out of the V-band flange behind the S300. They looked almost like nitrous purgers they were shooting so high.

I think it would have eventually slid past 40PSI, but I didn't see any reason to rev it any higher. I also noticed I lost the O-ring that goes on the V-bnd on the outlet of the compressor on the S400, so I'm gonna have to go scrouge one of those up at work tomorrow.

Heh, funny story on that actually. Just my S300 alone was hitting 45psi easily.

Oh well, it kept me off the Xbox for the summer.

I know the low boost was because of your lack of gaskets etc., but what did you end up setting the gate at on your s300? Have you got a boost gauge for the primary yet?

I already told you gauges are for losers.

I just hooked the 'gate back up and let it eat. If I remember right, it 'gated off somewhere around 32PSI back when I first got it. I'll just assume that the primary is doing fine and go off the manifold pressure. :bom:

If I feel like it's a little doggier than it should be I'll look into the details a bit more.

Judging from how it ran today, I think it'll be fine. Slower to spool than my single, but not ridiculously, and it pulled just as hard even with all the leaks.
