Raptor 100 Fuel Pump?

Postby 93DodgeCummins » Sun Sep 18, 2011 6:59 pm

I was thinking about getting a raptor 100 fuel pump for my truck. Are they a reliable pump? I wondering if it was possible to run it through the stock fuel filter because i don't want to have to deal with filters underneath the truck. Is there any good write ups on the installations on the first gens?

I just finished me raptor system install the other day. I really like the way everything came super easy to install and it tapped right into the filter so I was very happy with it. Also liked the idea of a life time warranty. O and I went with the 150 maybe alittle over kill but that's just me haha.

You might consider saving a little money and simply run a Walbro 392 pump and a fuel pressure regulator with your stock/OEM fuel filter set-up. I run the FS1221 filter as it is a little larger than the stock/OEM . There's a 3/8" supply line from the tank along with a 1/2" return.

With the fuel pressure regulator set to 12psig (drops to 10psig @ WOT), there's enough fuel provided to the stock/OEM 12mm IP to put right at 450hp and 1000ft/lbs to the ground through a NON lock-up converter. (Fine-print: Yes, there's a bunch of engine crap to build/support it).

I talked to airdog on the installation on our first gens. they said the installation was pretty easy. The current draw is anywhere from 2-6 amps. I don't know if that will affect cold starting or not? Im here in South Dakota and we get sub zero or colder nights in the middle of winter.

stick with the 2nd gen hplp and regulate it, no concerns on wires and plenty of room to grow

do you guys think that a 2-6 amp draw will affect cold starting?

I doubt your truck would notice that. Turning your headlights on would pull more power.
